Nothing is off the table

“Whatever resources the police need, they will get. Whatever tactics the police feel they need to deploy, they will have legal backing to do so. We will do whatever is necessary to restore law and order onto our streets. Every contingency is being looked at, nothing is off the table. The are already authorised to use baton rounds.” David Cameron, 10/08/2011

Looting and arson are wrong. Rioters must be stopped. BUT. This statement by the prime minister fills me with fear. Handing over permission for “whatever tactics the police feel they need to deploy” is NOT going to end well. Once the police receive new power, they don’t let it go easily.  If Cameron has some specific power in mind for the police, he should say so. I hope that he doesn’t mean what he said above, because a massive transfer of power to a corrupt police force with a penchant for covering up murder is the last thing that we want. And as for baton rounds, or rubber bullets, they are still fired from guns, and they are often lethal. The police are not even supposed to use CS spray unless their lives are threatened, yet they are allowed to fire a gun at someone.

How difficult is it to emigrate to Norway?

The world is broken and I can't fix it because I am broken. I can, however, rant about it all and this is where I do that when I can get my thoughts together. Most of the time you'll find my words on Twitter rather than here though. I sometimes write for Where's The Benefit too.

  1. the police in manchester did the right thing. they ran down the thugs and gave them a good kicking. Ok by me. they will find where they live, and get some of the stolen goods back, and the thugs will get a police record.
they can do that and receive public support. why.? because its mostly white scum.
NOW!……………………………..If this was done in a Black or Asian community ( funny how we have them in a multicultural society)… the locals would be out going mental. screaming police brutality. and playing the race card.YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!  so the police let them steal. vandalize and kill.( dont want to upset the poor lambs.)
there is no excuse for mindless violence in looting. you do the crime you take the consequences for your actions. the BBC have been disgusting ( whats new there) with there openly bias left wing clap trap. the amount of people allowed to “blame the tories they have caused this through cuts” is  sick.we I see that the liberal leftie Andrew Gilligan had his head kicked in and
his bike stolen by a gang of blacks. Strange that the BBC didn’t
report that, seeing as he was once a reporter working for them until of
course he made the mistake of interviewing David Kelly to get to the
    truth about the WMDs.

we all know the real reasons for the riots. one man predicted this
in 1968. the finest prime minister we never had, read this and see where we went wrong.
